Alex’s Musical Picture Book (小智哥教音乐) introduces children to three Chinese instruments: the guqin (古琴), the pipa (琵琶) and the xiao (箫). Each spread tells one instrument’s story and carries a QR code to a recording of it, so readers can hear the instrument as they read about it. Alex (小智), a comic version of me, guides them through the book. Published by East China Normal University Press, it debuted at the 2019 Shanghai Book Fair.
